Future Caps LTP Program

The Future Caps program for Learn to Play at MedStar will be back for the 2019-20 season.

Information is available HERE for the Future Caps program. The next series will begin March 7.

Registration is open. You MUST registration through the Future Caps site to qualify for free gear. If you register through MedStar, you WILL NOT be eligible for gear and will have to purchase/provide your own gear. This program is for first time LTP players. This program is not for more experienced participants who have previously participated in LTP.

Youth LTP 1

Learn to Play 1

Youth LTP 1 is a fun way to develop skills as well as a love for the game of hockey!  It’s a beginner class for young hockey players.  Players will learn and develop their hockey skills with structured age and ability-appropriate games and skill specific stations emphasizing fun!

March 7 - April 25 (This is an 8-week series)
Saturday Mornings
There are no blackout dates during this series.

All dates and times are subject to change based on the Capitals schedule and other rink activities.

**Registration is through the FUTURE CAPS program for LTP 1 for the this series. Registration is now open for the entire season. Registration for LTP 1 is NOT available through MedStar Capitals Iceplex registration system for this series.**
If players have previously completed LTP 1, they should register for LTP 2 through MedStar Capitals Iceplex. If players fall outside the ages of 5-9, they should sign up for LTP 2.

All youth and adult hockey players at MedStar Capitals Iceplex must submit their USAHockey number when requested during registrations.
2019-20 USAHockey numbers are required. If you need to retrieve or purchase your number, visit USA Hockey. (If registering through the Capitals, you do not need to purchase a separate USA Hockey number - one will be provided for you as part of your registration!)

Full gear is required for all:

HECC Certified Helmet with full-face protection (cage or shield), shoulder pads, elbow pads, ice hockey gloves, ice hockey pants, ice hockey shin guards, mouth guard, protective cup, hockey skates, and hockey stick. (If registering through Capitals, all gear except cup and mouth guard is provided.)
