January 8: Capitals Academy Peewee B team made it safely to Canada yesterday and played game one this morning, January 8, against Joliet (Illinois) Jaguars. Both teams came out strong and at the end of one it was tied 0-0. In the second the Jaguars jumped ahead on a loose puck in front but the Caps answered quickly to tie it up with a goal by Drew Hecker. Another goal by Ricky McGolerick in the second put the Caps ahead going into the 3rd. After keeping pressure on the Jaguars multiple times in the final period, Nicholas Hunter scored the third goal late in the game to guarantee the win for the Caps by a final of 3-1.
