Kettler Capitals Iceplex is excited to announce a new program:
SCORING SCHOOL!
GET THE SCORER’S EDGE!
This is an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of all shots and use those concepts on the ice.
Sessions will teach players how to shoot the puck quicker, with more velocity and increased accuracy.
On ice instruction by Caps Academy staff.
Drop in to Scoring School’s 1-hour on-ice sessions each week beginning September 2!
Mites - Midgets are invited. Players will be grouped by ability into scoring stations.
Wednesday Afternoons
3:40pm-4:40pm
(No Scoring School September 23 due to Capitals Training Camp.)
COST: $30 per session
REGISTER HERE. Advanced registration is strongly encouraged. Register for individual sessions online or at the front desk. Caps Academy reserves the right to move players to appropriate groups based on ability.
Key Teaching Points Include:
Shot Mechanics:
- Puck position on blade
- Puck position in relation to your body
- Load/Release point
- Weight transfer & follow-through
Types of shots:
- Wrist Shots
- Snapshots
- Slapshots
- Backhand shots
- Shots off the pass
- One foot shots
Proper Shot setup:
- Stick Length, flex, lie, and curve
- Top and Bottom hand - positions
