After almost 7 years Dan is moving on from Kettler to a hockey position in the Midwest and to be closer to family.  The success we have is because of all of our Coaches efforts to lead, inspire and educate the children in the program. Dan inspired that in all of our Coaches and obviously brought it to each and every day.  Dan will be around thru February as we make this transition. Please take the time to thank him for his tenure with us and join us in wishing him the best in the future.

However, the future is bright at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. We are excited to announce that Brad Surdam will become the newest addition to KCI and step into the role of Hockey Director.

Brad is a long time native of Northern Virginia and has played for numerous organizations in the area, including the Washington Little Capitals, Junior Capitals, Junior Nationals, Reston Raiders, and Northern Virginia Ice Dogs.

After playing with the Washington Junior Nationals for the 2006-2007 season, Brad continued playing at Lebanon Valley College (NCAA D-III) and also played professional hockey with the Cape Cod Bluefins (FHL).

Brad spent the previous four seasons coaching teams with the Little Capitals at the U14 and U16 age groups. He has enjoyed successful seasons with those teams and produced a NJPHL championship, been in the AYHL championship game, and been a PVAHA regional champion. He attributes his coaching success to the American Development Model (ADM).

Brad is looking forward to joining Kettler Capitals Iceplex and continuing to build on Dan’s great work to develop the best youth program in the Washington D.C. area through the ADM model.
