Capitals Academy announces Squirt Red Coach

Ben Kwon tabbed for 2018-19 season

Capitals Academy is pleased to announce that Ben Kwon will be the Head Coach of the 2018-19 Squirt Red team.

 

This will be Ben’s twelfth year as a coach and instructor at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. Ben has coached many teams within Capitals Academy including Tournament Teams and Travel Teams at all levels. Ben has also coached in the Washington Little Capitals Tier 1 organization.

 

A Washington native, Ben began his hockey career playing for both the Montgomery Blue Devils and the Washington Little Capitals. He played Junior Hockey for the Shelburne Wolves franchise in the Ontario Provincial Junior “A,” and was an All-Star and team captain.  Ben went on to play for Lebanon Valley College (NCAA DIII) earning numerous accolades throughout his career that include: All-Star Rookie, First-Team All-Star in his Sophomore and Junior seasons, All-Conference his Senior season, and becoming the first defenseman in LVC’s history to score over 100 career points. After graduation he played for the SEHL (South East Hockey League) Cape Fear Fire Antz.

 

Ben is a Level 4 USA Hockey certified coach and is an experienced hockey skills coach. He has a natural gift in infecting youth hockey players with a passion for the game and passing along hockey knowledge to help them turn their passion into results.
