July 6 - 10 at MedStar Capitals Iceplex

The Skarupa Skills Hockey Camp will be led by Capitals Hockey Ambassador and Team USA Olympic Gold Medalist Haley Skarupa, with special guest coaches throughout the camp. The Skarupa Skills Hockey Camp is intended to enhance camper's hockey skills, game play, and off-ice knowledge.

Guest coaches throughout the week will include additional Team USA Olympic Gold Medalists, World Champions, and National Team players.

The Skarupa Skills Hockey Camp will focus on comprehensive on-ice and off-ice skill development concentrating on speed, agility, power, endurance, and flexibility. Each camp day will include on-ice drills and competition, off-ice conditioning, and off-ice educational seminars and Q&A's.

Participants should have strong ice hockey knowledge and have House Level, Travel Level, or Tier 1 experience for this camp.

AGES 7-14
Players and goalies welcome. Please use separate registrations.

July 6-10, 2020
This is a full day camp, 9am-5pm.

Fee: $750

Registration opens at 10am on Tuesday, February 11.

Registration begins in February.
The season begins in April.



Priority registration for returning RHL F/W 2019-20 players: February 9 - February 23

Registration for returning eligible LTP players who have completed at least 2 sessions of LTP at MedStar: February 24 - March 11

Open registration: March 12

As a reminder, players "age up" in the Spring season. Your age division for Spring 2020 may be different than the Fall/Winter 2019-2020 season.

Registration is by age division/birthyear:

6U (Minimite) - Players born 2014 & 2015
8U (Mite) - Players born 2012 & 2013
10U (Squirt) - Players born 2010 & 2011
12U (Peewee) - Players born 2008 & 2009
14U/16U (Bantam/Midget) - Players born 2004, 2005, 2006,  2007

Players must register for their birthyear. No exceptions.
8U Mites will register as 2012 and 2013. All other divisions registrations are combined birthyears.


PLEASE NOTE: If you intend to tryout out for Spring Tournament Team, DO NOT register for RHL.

Tryout Registration Opens February 1!

The Capitals Academy Tournament Team is for the player looking for a competitive spring experience.

This tournament team is for players that will be 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U players during the 2020-2021 season. This program will include 5 on-ice sessions, a tournament jersey, and tournament socks.

Practices (5 on-ice) are typically held on Sunday mornings but are subject to change.

Program Fee: $580
Non-Refundable Tryout Fee: $110


Tryouts are held March 2nd - March 15th and are organized by birthyear. See the flyer below for all tryout times.

Jersey fittings for tournament team will be held DURING tryouts. Players must try on a jersey with a parent to ensure a proper size.

Brief parent meetings will be held during tryouts at these dates and times:
• 2010 & 2011 birthyears (10U) – March 6th at 6:30p-7:00p
• 2008 & 2009 birthyears (12U) – March 11th at 7:30p-8:00p
• 2006 & 2007 birthyears (14U) – March 4th at 7:30p-8:00p
• 2004 & 2005 birthyears (16U) – March 2nd at 8:00p-8:30p
• 2002 & 2003 birthyears (18U) – March 9th at 8:30p-9:00p

All tryout dates and times are subject to change based on the Capitals schedule and enrollment numbers.

Number of teams formed will be based on interest.

Players should plan to attend all three tryout dates. We reserve the right to reduce the tryout roster at any time.

Tournament will be held either Pre-Memorial Day Weekend or Memorial Day Weekend. We plan to have all our teams attend the the Denis duPlanti Pre-Memorial Day tournament that is hosted by The Patriot Ice Center in Newark, DE. Travel and overnight hotel stays will be required by selected players.
