CONGRATS CATT SQUIRT BLUE!

The Capitals Academy Squirt Blue team participated in the Congressional Fall Classic October 9th-12th at the Ashburn Ice House.  The team played in the Squirt B division against teams from New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.  They completed the tournament undefeated placing them as first seed in the championship game Sunday evening.  The Avalanche opened up strong with a quick first period goal. The Caps continued to battle producing a game tieing goal late in the 3rd period forcing a 4-on-4 overtime.  After 5 minutes of  overtime, and too many to count shots on goal, neither team managed to find the back of the net. With the stands packed with cheering fans, the Capitals claimed victory over the New Jersey Avalanche after a thrilling 8 round shoot out to win the tournament championship.
