Capitals Academy is pleased to announce that Brad Surdam will be the Head Coach of the 2018-19 Bantam Red team.

This will be Brad’s first season as a Capitals Academy coach and Hockey Director.

As a long time native of Northern Virginia, Brad has played for numerous organizations in the area, including the Washington Little Capitals, Junior Capitals, and Junior Nationals. After playing with the Washington Junior Nationals for the 2006-2007 season, Brad continued playing at Lebanon Valley College (NCAA DIII) and has also played professional hockey with the Cape Cod Bluefins (FHL).

Brad has spent four seasons in coaching teams with the Washington Little Capitals at the U14 and U16 age groups and has enjoyed successful seasons that include a NJPHL championship, AYHL championship finalist, and PVAHA championship. He attributes his coaching success to the American Development Model (ADM) and is looking forward to developing players through this model so they can take the next step in their playing careers.

Brad is a Level 4 USA Hockey certified coach and he intends to receive his Level 5 certification this summer.
