Information for the Fall/Winter 2024-2025 season will be available in June, with registration beginning in July.

The Fall/Winter season will likely begin in September and go through March. Dates and times have not yet been set as this schedule will be built around the Capitals schedule.

*Please note the registration timeline:*

February 1st - 11th - RETURNING FALL/WINTER 2023-2024 RHL PLAYER PRIORITY REGISTRATION

February 12th - 18th - ELIGIBLE LTP PLAYER PRIORITY REGISTRATION and Returning Spring RHL 2023 (players must have COMPLETED at least 2 sessions of Youth LTP at MedStar prior to the season start in April 2024)

February 19th - OPEN REGISTRATION (Players must still meet requirements of LTP completion or previous house league experience at MedStar or another rink)

ALL PLAYERS MUST REGISTER FOR THEIR AGE GROUP, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Registration begins at 10am for each time period.

Ensure that you have your 2023-2024 USA Hockey number available during registration. You are required to have your 2023-2024 USA Hockey number at least 24 hours in advance. Hint: the fourth digit will be a 4.

 

GOALIE REGISTRATION:
Goalie fees are the same as player fees for Spring 2024. Goalie registration time periods are the same as player registration. A separate Goalie registration is available for goalies (10U, 12U, and 14/16U). There are no full-time goalies at 6U or 8U.

 

USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION

We require all House League participants to register independently with USA Hockey at membership.usahockey.com. You will not be able to register for the season without a valid 2023-2024 USA Hockey registration.

 

SEASON INFORMATION AND TEAM ASSIGNMENTS:

• Season runs early April to mid June.
• Skill development is incorporated for all teams through USA Hockey’s American Development Model recommended guidelines. ADM provides age-appropriate guidelines and curriculum to hockey associations across America to help more kids play, love, and excel in hockey.
• Hockey Director and RHL Coaches will evaluate and divide players into balanced teams for the season.
• Coaches are USA Hockey certified.
• Team Jersey included.
• Prerequisite: All players must have completed at least 2 sessions of Youth Learn-To-Play classes or have previously played in the house league.
• Evaluation Skates will be held March 17th. Registration for this Eval skate will begin at a later date.
• Team rosters are not finalized until the 2nd week of the season. Players may be required to move teams to ensure competitive balance within the league.
• We anticipate each team having 4 practices and 8 games unless noted otherwise.

6U - Birth Years 2018, 2019

• Practices: Players will be divided into small groups and placed into stations. Each station will incorporate drills for skill development and fun
• Anticipated practices/games on Sunday afternoons
• 8-week season begins April 7th
• Cost: $368

 

8U - Birth Years 2016, 2017

• Practices will be held on Wednesday evenings
• Teams practice every other Wednesday (4 practices total)
• All 8U teams will practice on Wednesdays with teams alternating each week.
• Games will be cross-ice with a warm-up and two 25-minute periods
• There are no full-time goalies in Mites. The coach will rotate goalies each game. RHL provides goalie gear for Mites
• Anticipated games will be held on Sunday afternoons (8 games total) beginning April 14th.
• Cost: $432

 

10U - Birth Years 2014, 2015

• Practices will be held on Monday evenings
• Multiple teams will practice together during each practice session
• Games will be 4v4 or 5v5 half-ice and consist of a 3-minute warm-up and two, 25-minute periods.
• Teams practice every other Monday (4 practices total)
• All 10U teams will practice on Mondays with teams alternating each week.
• Games will be half-ice and consist of a 3-minute warm-up and about 50 minutes of playing time
• Anticipated games will be held on Saturday afternoons (8 games total) beginning April 13th.
• Cost: $472

 

12U - Birth Years 2012, 2013

• Practices will be held on Monday evenings
• Multiple teams will practice together during each practice session
• Teams practice every other Monday (4 practices total)
• All 12U teams will practice on Mondays with teams alternating each week.
• Games are full-ice and consist of a 3-minute warm-up and three 12-minute periods
• Anticipated games will be held on Saturday afternoons (8 games total) beginning April 13th.
• Cost: $472

 

14U/16U

Birth Years 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011

• Games will be held on Saturday afternoons/evenings
• This is a games-only league (8 games, no practices)
• Anticipated games will be held on Saturday evenings (8 games total) beginning April 13th.
• This is a NON-CHECKING league
• Cost: $416

If you are registering for Elite or Tournament Team Tryouts, please DO NOT register for RHL EXCEPT 8U. 8U Tournament teams participants are encouraged to also register for and participate in RHL 8U.
