Rooftop Hockey League 2024-2025

The Fall/Winter 2024-2025 hockey season is coming soon! Thank you for supporting our program and we look forward to including you in our community.

*Please note the registration timeline:*

July 1st - July 10th RETURNING FALL/WINTER 2023-2024 RHL PLAYER PRIORITY REGISTRATION

July 11th - July 18th ELIGIBLE LTP PLAYER & RHL SPRING 2024 PRIORITY REGISTRATION  (players must have COMPLETED at least 2 sessions of Youth LTP at MedStar prior to the season start in September 2024 or participated in a previous RHL season)

July 19th- OPEN REGISTRATION (Players must still meet requirements of LTP completion or previous house league experience at MedStar or another rink)

ALL PLAYERS MUST REGISTER FOR THEIR BIRTH YEAR, NO EXCEPTIONS.

Registration begins at 10am for each time period.

Only online registration is available at this time. In-person registrations are not available.

RHL fills quickly, so PLEASE REGISTER EARLY. Once a level is full, a waitlist will be available. Ensure that you have your 2024-2025 USA Hockey number available during registration. You are required to have your 2024-2025 USA Hockey number at least 24 hours in advance. Hint: the fourth digit will be a 5.

6U - Birth Years 2018, 2019

  • Practices: Players will be divided into small groups and placed into stations. Each station will incorporate drills for skill development and fun.
  • Anticipated practices/games early Saturday mornings.
  • 10-week season begins in September.
  • A second 10-week season will be offered January-March 2025.
  • Cost: $470

 

8U - Birth Years 2016, 2017

  • We anticipate that practices will be held on Mondays.
  • Games will be cross-ice with a warm-up and two 25-minute periods.
  • There are no full-time goalies in Mites. The coach will rotate goalies each game. RHL provides goalie gear for Mites.
  • Anticipated games will be held on Sunday mornings OR Sunday afternoons.
  • Cost: $1,540

 

10U - Birth Years 2014, 2015

  • We anticipate that practices will be held on Mondays.
  • Multiple teams will practice together during each practice session.
  • Games will be half-ice and consist of a 3-minute warm-up and about 50 minutes of playing time.
  • Anticipated games will be held on Saturday mornings OR afternoons.
  • Cost: $1,540
     

12U - Birth Years 2012, 2013

  • We anticipate that practices will be held on Monday or Tuesday evenings.
  • Multiple teams will practice together during each practice session.
  • Games are full-ice and consist of a 3-minute warm-up and three 12-minute periods.
  • Anticipated games will be held on Saturday mornings OR afternoons.
  • Cost: $1,540
     

14U/16U Birth Years 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011

  • Anticipated games on Saturday evenings.
  • This is a games-only league (no practices).
  • This is a non-checking league.
  • Cost: $1,240

USA HOCKEY REGISTRATION

We require all House League participants to register independently with USA Hockey at membership.usahockey.com. 

You will need a 2024-2025 USA Hockey number to register for the Fall/Winter 2024-2025 season.

This will be a 14-digit alphanumeric with a "5" as the fourth digit.

We encourage you to obtain your number at least 24 hours in advance of your registration. You can get your number NOW!

RHL EVALUATION SKATE & TRAINING CAMP

Thank you for your patience as we prepare for the upcoming season. Several sets of important dates are noted below. Keep reading to learn about some important activities for RHL!

We anticipate RHL practices and games beginning the week of September 14, subject to change based on the Capitals schedule.

Team assignments and schedules will be sent to your email about two weeks after the evaluation skate. We ask for your patience as there are several hundred players in RHL.

We anticipate the following days and approximate times for the majority of games and practices, but your specific team schedule will be visible in your Daysmart calendar after teams have been assigned:

  • 6U - Saturday mornings starting approximately 7:10am
  • 8U Wales - Monday practices start around 5pm and Sunday game start times approximately around 2:40pm
  • 8U Campbell - Monday practices start around 6pm and Sunday game start times approximately around 1:30pm
  • 10U - Monday practices start around 5:30pm or 6:50pm and Saturday game start times approximately between 2pm-6pm
  • 12U - Monday practice start around 7:20pm or Tuesday practice start around 6:20pm and Saturday games start approximately 2pm-6pm
  • 14U/16U - Saturday game start times approximately 4:30pm-7:30pm (There are no 14U/16U practices.)

 

All program times listed above and below are subject to change based on the Capitals schedule and program enrollment numbers.

Following registration for the programs below, you can see the most updated times for these events reflected in your Daysmart calendar.
When registering, be sure to select the player who is registered for RHL 2024-2025 from the dropdown. These programs require players to already be registered for the RHL 2024-2025 Fall/Winter season.
There are no refunds for RHL or for the programs listed here.
Full gear is required.

EVALUATION SKATE

To promote equitable play between all teams, players new to RHL MUST participate in the evaluation skate process prior to the start of the House League season. Returning players (including those who are moving up an age division) should NOT register for nor attend this event.

There is NO FEE for the Evaluation Skate, but we do ask players to register prior to attending to help us plan.

Following the Evaluation Skate, a draft will be conducted by the Hockey Director and all Rooftop Hockey League coaches.
There is no evaluation skate for 6U. 6Us are not divided into teams for the season. All players are on the ice at the same time each week.
