This curriculum is the only Learn to Skate program endorsed by USA Hockey, US Speed Skating, Special Olympics, and US Figure Skating. Classes are organized into age specific levels and designed for any beginner to acquire the necessary skills to enjoy the sport of Ice Skating for a lifetime.
All three age groups lay the foundation for FUN and any other discipline within the skating community.

What to know on your first day of a Learn to Skate Class!
Skating is a sport; you should dress in athletic type clothing.
The rink is kept at a cool 55 degrees.
Flexible layers are encouraged in case you break a sweat.
An all-sport compression helmet is also strongly recommended but not required for our Snowplow Sam, Basic, or Adult levels. We do require an HECC approved helmet for any of our Learn to Hockey Skate levels. Ask our pro-shop for details.
Don't forget gloves. They not only keep your hands warm, but can protect you from minor accidents.
And the number one forgotten item?
Socks! A thin pair that rises above the ankle is best.
Owning your own equipment is key to faster progress. Visit our Pro-Shop for the best options for your level.
Email the Skating Department with your questions.
